Cancellation Policy

Understanding our cancellation terms and procedures

1. Cancellation Rights

Customers have the right to cancel their Talkup AI service subscriptions subject to the terms outlined in this policy. Cancellation requests must be submitted in accordance with the procedures specified below.

2. Free Trial Cancellation

For customers on free trial periods:

  • Free trials automatically expire at the end of the trial period
  • No credit card required for free trials
  • Service access terminates immediately upon trial expiration
  • No cancellation fee applies to free trial terminations
  • Data may be retained for a limited period after trial expiration

3. Paid Subscription Cancellation

Monthly Subscriptions

  • Can be cancelled at any time with 30 days' notice
  • Service remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • No pro-rata refunds for partial months
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period

Annual Subscriptions

  • Can be cancelled with 30 days' notice
  • Service remains active until the end of the paid year
  • Prorated refund may be available for unused portion (see Refund Policy)
  • Early termination fees may apply for enterprise plans

4. Cancellation Methods

Customers can cancel their subscriptions through the following methods:

Online Account Portal

Log into your Talkup AI account and navigate to the subscription settings page to cancel your service.

Email Request

Send a cancellation request to: cancel@talkupai.com including your account details and reason for cancellation.

Phone Request

Call our customer service team at: +1 (123) 456-7890 during business hours.

Written Request

Send written cancellation requests to our corporate address with proper account identification.

5. Data Handling Upon Cancellation

Following account cancellation:

  • All service access will be terminated on the cancellation effective date
  • Customer data will be retained for 90 days for backup purposes
  • Data will be permanently deleted after the retention period
  • Customers can request data export before cancellation (subject to processing time)
  • Some data may be retained to comply with legal requirements
  • Usage analytics and aggregate data will be anonymized and retained

6. Non-Cancellable Services

Certain services cannot be cancelled mid-term:

  • Custom development or implementation services
  • One-time setup or onboarding fees
  • Professional services engagements
  • Custom integration projects
  • Enterprise license agreements

7. Automatic Renewal

Important information about automatic renewal:

  • Most subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • Renewal notifications are sent 15 days before renewal date
  • Payment method on file will be charged for renewal
  • Renewal pricing may be adjusted with advance notice
  • Customers can opt-out of automatic renewal at any time

8. Early Termination Penalties

Standard Plans

Early termination may be subject to the following charges:

  • No penalties for standard monthly cancellation after 60 days of service
  • Prior notice required as specified in subscription terms

Enterprise Plans

Enterprise customers may be subject to:

  • Early termination fees as specified in contract
  • Minimum commitment period requirements
  • Pro-rated charges for remaining contract period
  • Setup and implementation fee retention

9. Cancellation Processing Time

Cancellation requests are processed within:

  • 24-48 hours for online requests
  • 3-5 business days for email requests
  • 5-7 business days for written requests
  • Confirmation email sent upon processing completion
  • Final billing statement issued within 30 days

10. Special Circumstances

Service Issues

Customers experiencing significant service problems may be eligible for:

  • Service credits instead of cancellation
  • Temporary suspension without penalty
  • Priority resolution assistance
  • Escalated support channels

Business Changes

For business closures or major changes:

  • Special consideration for long-term customers
  • Flexible cancellation terms may be negotiated
  • Account transfer options for business sales
  • Extended data retention upon request

11. Account Reactivation

Former customers may reactivate accounts:

  • Within 90 days of cancellation at original pricing
  • After 90 days subject to current pricing
  • Data restoration may be available (subject to retention period)
  • New setup fees may apply for extended cancellations
  • Previous promotional rates may not be reinstated
